Jesus Christ & Astrology: A Christian-Friendly Perspective on the Cosmos

Updated: Aug 19

Embracing Astrology: A Christian-Friendly Perspective on the Cosmos

Astrology often faces skepticism, especially among those who hold strong Christian beliefs. For many, the idea of aligning oneself with cosmic rhythms and celestial movements might seem at odds with traditional Christian teachings. However, a closer examination reveals that astrology and Christianity can harmoniously coexist. In fact, there are aspects of Christian teaching and Jesus Christ’s own life that suggest astrology can be a valuable tool for spiritual growth and self-discovery. Let’s explore how astrology can fit within a Christian framework and why it’s worth considering as a complementary practice.

Jesus Christ and the Teachings of Self-Discovery

Jesus Christ’s teachings often emphasize the importance of self-awareness and inner reflection. Contrary to popular belief, Jesus did not simply instruct his followers to follow him blindly, on the contrary, instead, he encouraged individuals to cultivate their own spiritual understanding and to realize their own divine potential or Christ Consciousness. One of the core messages of Jesus was about recognizing the divine within oneself. He said, “The kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21). This statement invites individuals to explore their own spiritual essence and consciousness.

Astrology, in essence, can be seen as a tool for this kind of self-discovery. By understanding the positions and movements of celestial bodies, individuals can gain insights into their own personality traits, strengths, and challenges. This self-knowledge aligns with Jesus’s teaching to look within and understand oneself on a deeper level.

Meditation, Occultism, and Esoterics in Jesus’s Life

It might come as a surprise to some that Jesus was deeply involved in practices that are often classified as esoteric or occult. While the term "occult" might carry negative connotations today, in ancient times, it was more about hidden or deeper knowledge rather than anything malevolent. Jesus spent significant time in meditation and prayer, retreats where he sought to connect with the divine and understand the mysteries of existence.

Jesus's practices of meditation and deep spiritual inquiry suggest a profound engagement with the mysteries of the cosmos and human consciousness. He understood the importance of connecting with the divine on a personal level, a concept that resonates with the principles found in astrology. By studying the stars and celestial movements, astrology offers a way to explore and reflect upon these cosmic connections.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” -Psalm 19:1

The Role of Astrology in Understanding God’s Creation

The cosmos is a manifestation of God’s creation, a grand design that reflects divine order and beauty. The Bible itself acknowledges the significance of the heavens: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (Psalm 19:1). This verse highlights the idea that the cosmos, including the stars and planets, are part of God’s creation and are imbued with divine significance.

Astrology does not seek to replace divine wisdom or overshadow religious faith. Rather, it provides a framework through which individuals can better understand themselves in the context of this grand design. The positions of celestial bodies can offer insights into our personal journeys, helping us to align with the natural rhythms of the universe that God has created.

Overcoming Fear and Embracing Astrology

Many Christians are taught to be wary of astrology due to misconceptions and negative portrayals in certain religious teachings. However, it is essential to approach astrology with an open and discerning mind. Understanding astrology as a study of the stars and its influences on human life on earth, as tool for self-reflection more so rather than a source of divination or fortune-telling can help bridge the gap between astrology and Christian faith.

Astrology can complement Christian spirituality by offering a deeper understanding of oneself and one's place in the cosmos. It provides a perspective that acknowledges the intricate connections between the individual and the universe, inviting a harmonious integration of spiritual beliefs and cosmic understanding.

“And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years.’” - Genesis 1:14 (NIV)

Another astrologer made a good point about this, I thought I would quote her: "Jesus never spoke against astrologers. In fact, he came in under a special star. The first three persons to visit him and give him gifts were the “Magi” - astrologers guided by this star! Jesus is claimed in the Gospels to have departed this plane exactly at the time of an eclipse and that he predicted his own return under heavenly signs. His followers used the sign of the fish, the symbol of the new Age of Pisces, thought to be marked by his coming." - Judith Hill

Conclusion

Astrology, when viewed through a lens of self-discovery and spiritual growth, can be a valuable ally for those seeking to understand themselves better and align with divine order. Jesus Christ’s teachings about inner discovery, meditation, and his own engagement with mystical practices suggest that exploring the cosmos is not contrary to Christian faith but can enhance it. By embracing astrology as a reflection of God’s creation and a tool for personal insight, Christians can find a meaningful and enriching way to connect with the divine order of the universe.

So, if you are a Christian like myself (in fact my birth name is Christian) curious about astrology, know that exploring the stars and celestial patterns can be a journey of spiritual growth and self-discovery that complements, rather than conflicts with, your faith. The universe, after all, is a reflection of God’s magnificent creation, and understanding it can bring us closer to understanding ourselves and our divine purpose. - Xaman Monk #Jesus #JesusChrist #Christianity #ChristianAstrology #AkashicRecords #AkashicRecordsAstrology #AkashicReadings #readings #consultations #Akasha #Astrology #Spiritualinternet #Enlightenment
